“Art is a
technique of communication. The image is the most complete technique of
all communication.” —Claes Oldenburg
About the
Artist/Photographer,
Rose Yannuzzi:
I
am both a self-taught watercolor artist and have also studied with
several watercolor artists, an oil painter with a lifetime of
experience, and noted photographers. I am a member of the Ridgewood Art
Institute, the Edward Hopper House, and an associate member of the
North East Watercolor Society. I am currently a member of the Piermont
Flywheel Gallery in Piermont, NY. I am especially attracted to
landscapes, seascapes, and any subjects that reflect the beauty of the
natural world. I try to impart the sense of spirituality and poetic
beauty of nature in my art. My interest in photography started about 20
years ago, and, as with my art subjects, I try to capture both the
beauty of nature and its relationship to things that are man-made in my
photography.
About the
Photographers:
Roland V. Yannuzzi
I have worked in
the field of amateur photography for over 40 years. I used a Kodak
Brownie in my beginning photographic efforts; then a Polaroid camera;
subsequently, 35 mm photography film and slides using a Minolta SLR
camera; and finally digital photography. My lifelong fascination and
study of film makes me acutely aware of what makes an unforgettable
visual image that moves the viewer and elicits a strong emotional
response. I try to apply this to my photography.
Victor Yannuzzi
I
am a meterologist currently working in Minnesota, a great place to take
photographs and a great profession to appreciate the opportunities
severe weather offers to take stunning photographs. While doing
graduate school research in Alaska, I was fortunate to have the
opportunity while there and in my trip to and from Alaska through
Canada and the Yukon to view the most breathtaking images. I have tried
to capture the grandeur and beauty of what I experienced in these areas
much less traveled.
